Smart Industry Expo 2022 hosts engineering skills gap panel discussion

Talking Industry Live will be holding an engineering skills gap panel discussion at the forthcoming Smart industry Expo at the NEC, Birmingham (5-7 April 2022), bringing together key industry leaders, including: Dr Susan Scurlock, Founder of Primary Engineers, Wg Cdr Russ Barnes, Youth and STEM, Royal Air Force, and Charlotte Swain, Deputy Director for Delivery at the MTC’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre.
The panel discussion will focus on Bridging the Engineering Skills Gap for Factories of the Future, and will highlight that in order to future proof both our recovery and future, Government and industry need to address not just the immediate term skills and training needs, but also the mid-term. At the heart of a future education and training system is the need to help manufacturers adopt to new digital technologies. This panel discussion will also look at what is needed to support these needs and help bridge any digital skills gaps, including:
- Bridging the skills gap with automated engineering
- Investing in digital skills of the future
- Inspiring a new generation
Online registration has now opened for visitors wanting to attend Smart Industry Expo and co-location of events which will take place at Birmingham National Exhibition Centre from 5-7 April 2022.
