Powerful visualisation tool

KISTERS says its 3DViewStation offers the possibility to access data in the company network or in the cloud – anytime and anywhere.
The company explains: Flexible and mobile working has become very important as a result of the pandemic. Where the workplace used to be determined by location and the availability of a computer, today all that is needed is an Internet connection and an HTML5-capable end device. But what has already become quite commonplace in private life could be used much more effectively in manufacturing companies. Especially on business trips, or in projects with many participants, mobile access to relevant CAD data and drawings helps enormously with important decisions that do not allow any delay. If information is missing, friction losses occur during customer or supplier meetings and, in the worst case, wrong decisions are made. A high-performance CAD viewer in the web version offers all mobile users the same performance, the same APIs and thus the same functionality as a desktop version.
Security has top priority. Since the KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer does not transfer any 3D geometries to the end device, a very secure handling of sensitive CAD data is possible. They are neither downloaded nor streamed, but transferred only as image information when accessing the company’s own server.
Jim Eardly, U.S. Sales Director for KISTERS says: “Fortunately, concerns about a major changeover between the desktop and web versions of 3DViewStation are unfounded. All functions are almost identical and can be used intuitively. Even with low bandwidth, it is possible to visualise extremely large assemblies with the usual performance at the push of a button. But there are also other use cases. Customers who have been working with this solution for several years like to use the Web Viewer integrated into the user interface of their PLM system, for after sales & service solutions, or on production machines in the human-machine interface (HMI). Currently, online configurators are increasingly equipped with the web version of 3DViewStation to make individual product assembly and the buying experience as easy and realistic as possible.
With the KISTERS 3DViewStation WebViewer, a quick visual exchange in projects with colleagues, customers or partners is possible on the move, Eardly noted. “Important changes can be initiated intuitively at the touch of a finger,” he said. “Regardless of whether it’s a question of structure, functionality or variant diversity. This saves valuable time in decision-making or business processes and guarantees maximum flexibility.”
Known for its modern user-interface, high performance viewing, advanced analysis and integration capabilities into leading systems, 3DViewStation ships with current and mature importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D formats including Catia, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, Revit, JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF, MS Office and many more.
